Kernersville, NC (November 10, 2014) – For the fourth time in his career, Brennan Newberry strapped into a NASCAR Nationwide Series Chevrolet Camaro, sponsored by Qore-24 Antimicrobial Hand Purifier in Avondale, Arizona. Born and raised on the West Coast, Newberry was surrounded by friends, family, and representatives of his Tempe, Arizona based primary sponsor, Qore Systems. Showing speed during practice and qualifying, Newberry was primed for a top finish and was making his way into the lead pack early in the DAV 200 at Phoenix International Raceway before a tire issue coming out of turn 4 ended the NNS rookie’s completive event much earlier than expected. After a hard hit and well wishes from everyone in attendance, Newberry walked away unscathed and continues to gain experience and recognition in NASCAR’s premier support division.

Newberry and Crew Chief Jason Miller’s first chance to get on track for the weekend would come Friday morning for the first of 2 practice sessions to test their equipment. An unseasonably warm morning turned the track surface into a slick sheet of asphalt that teams had to adjust quickly for. After a total of 41 laps during the two sessions, Newberry would turn heads as me made his way inside the top 10 on the leader board. His final lap would be his fastest, 27.423 seconds, and would hold for 6th overall when the clock expired for the final session. During knockout qualifying the following day, Newberry would claim a starting spot inside the top 20 and continue to make gains on track through experience. After a lap of 27.384, Newberry and the Qore-24 SS-Green Light team would line up 19th for the main event Saturday afternoon.

Starting inside the top 20, Newberry quickly began racing his way forward after the initial drop of the green flag. Racing side-by-side with competitors, Newberry reported to his team that he was tight through turns 3 and 4 and was considering what adjustments to take during the first round of pit stops. On lap 34, Newberry had maintained his spot through the initial run of the race when a right front tire failure took the NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie hard into the turn 4 wall. Exiting his car slowly and gingerly, Newberry radioed to his spotter, Chris Rice, “I’m okay, that was just a hard hit”. Upon being cleared by the infield care medical center, Newberry talked with reporters and fans alike saying, “We had a really great car and a chance at a great finish. We didn’t get the result we wanted but we learned a lot and I look forward to what is in store for 2015”. This was the final NNS race for Newberry for the 2014 season. Newberry will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series 2014 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway for NTS Motorsports in the No.9 Qore-24 Chevrolet Silverado.

From the Driver’s Seat with Brennan Newberry:  “Bobby Dotter and SS-Green Light Racing helped me accomplish another goal in my racing career, not once but, 4 times this season. To step up in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the last time this season, at my favorite track none the less, was a dream come true. In final practice, my Crew Chief Jason Miller and his team helped me catapult the No.77 Qore-24 Chevrolet Camaro to 6th and to my best current qualifying position of 19th. That was a win for the team and I, it truly has yet to sink in. Our bad luck came with a blown tire and it poisoned our chances at a top 20 finish in the race, but the weekend wasn’t a complete loss. I had a blast working with the team, my sponsor Qore 24 and their entire company joined us at the track and I was able to be with my amazing and supportive family and friends. It is because of them all that I have been able to accomplish so much. I am truly blessed.”

Atop the Pit Box with Crew Chief Jason Miller: “As always, it was great working with Brennan (Newberry) on the NASCAR Nationwide side. Everyone at SS-Green Light has gained so much respect for this young man as he gets better every time he gets behind the wheel. We turned a lot of heads when we ended final practice just outside of the top 5 and we had a good run going until we lost the right front tire. A big thank you goes out to Qore-24 for supporting our team once again. The racing world has yet to see the best out of Brennan Newberry, he has a very bright future ahead of him in this sport!”
